Tools for Role-modeling and Teaching Critical Thinking

Paul A. Wagner, Ph.D.

Abstract

Much of what has been written about critical thinking talks about or measuring critical thinking. Little however has provided lesson-ready exercises for developing rigorous evaluation of ideas and critical thinking generally. This article mentions some resources for such practical instruction and emphasizes work along these lines that the author has been a part of for decades and has resulted in several book length publications in recent years. Critical thinking without skills of epistemic justification will come up short.
